Rev. Michael S. Snell came to our church originally as an interim minister in October of 2009. Early in 2010 we asked him to stay on as our full time Senior Minister. On April 18th, 2010 the church and Mike agreed to a long term agreement.
Mike graduated from Culver-Stockton College with a degree in Religion/Philosophy in May of 1990 and earned his Master of Divinity degree from Brite Divinity School at Texas Christian University (TCU).
In October of 1986, Mike accepted his first paid church position, as a youth director, in Monroe City, Missouri. Since that time he has served at churches in Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky and Texas. Mike's primary call has focused on youth ministry and included senior adult ministries, men's ministries and outreach.
In August of 2005, Mike started Project Berea, a mission in Mexico. Approximately five weeks a year Mike is in Mexico leading mission groups. The group is blessed to have received regular support from the Week of Compassion, Disciple congregations, thoughtful individuals and even a girl scout troop from Houston, Texas. More information about Project Berea is available on Facebook and fliers are available upon request. Project Berea on Facebook
In the Fall of 2010, Mike was asked to teach two courses at Southeast Arkansas College (SEARK). He continues to teach both courses, "Stratagies for College Success" and "Introduction to Humanities".
